Bamboo is suitable to be a material for the production of new products that can used indoors and outdoors. Five-, seven- nine-ply laminated woven bamboo mat boards from semantan bamboo, Gigantochloa scortechinii, were fabricated in this study. G. scortechinii has been commercially structural application easily available Malaysia. The present work investigated physico-mechanical properties flammability as function number ply. Phenol-formaldehyde resin was binder. panels’ density, physical, mechanical properties, formaldehyde emission evaluated. As ply increased, density decreased. Similarly, highest modulus elasticity found 5-ply boards. However, lowest rupture also measured Regarding shear strength, 7-ply outperformed 9-ply Meanwhile, exhibited dimensional stability, evidenced by water absorption thickness swelling. In terms flammability, all composites are classified V-0 because burning stops within 10 s no flaming drips observed.
